The General Presidency of Affairs at the Prophet’s Mosque has introduced a new digital system to enter the Rawdah Sharif. Now, pilgrims can go inside the Rawdah by using the QR-barcode scan entry system. Just scan the QR-barcode with the system and enter at Noble Rawdah. This digital system is now in place to access the sacred location more easily. As Saudi Arabia is proceeding towards its Vision 2030 development program, they are enhancing pilgrimage processes to improve the experience.
How to Scan QR-barcode at Automated Gates to Enter Rawdah Sharif?
Quick response or bar code scanning is one of the easiest technologies as compared to manual ID checking or biometric scanning. It’s not that difficult by following the points given below:
- First, pilgrims must book or reserve their Rawdah permits on the official Nusuk app (available in both iOS and Android).
- The issued permit within the given scheduled time will have a QR code on top.
- Now, proceed to the designated gate for men (gate 37) or women (gate 25), but make sure to reach 15-20 minutes earlier before the scheduled time.
- Follow the instructions or signs at the designated digital entries before scanning the quick response code.
- Turn on the mobile phone and open the Nusuk app to display the permit with a QR code.
- Finally, place the QR code in front of the scanner. When it’s accepted, you will hear a beep or see a green light, and the gate will be open.
- Enter the Rawdah peacefully and perform prayers. Security staff there may direct or assist pilgrims.

Reasons behind the Launch of the Digital Entry Access System
The Presidency of the Prophet’s Mosque and the Agency for Dawah and Guidance Affairs always want to make convenience for pilgrims. They will continue to do so, whatever they feel is best according to the latest digital technologies.
The primary purpose behind implementing this QR-barcode scanning system is to manage crowds in such a way that pilgrims first enter through automated gates, then proceed to waiting areas, and then enter the Rawdah in a grouping form. Moreover, to support the pilgrims with special needs, a separate path has been set up, and access will be granted only based on the crowd limits inside the Rawdah.
Apart from this, the agency also installed guidance screens throughout the mosque, including the Rawdah area. These electronic screens are available in 23 different languages to guide visitors and to get religious resources for download through QR codes.
Whether it’s digital permit guidance or Rawdah access support, Labbaik Hajj Umrah ensures pilgrims have a smooth and well-prepared journey.
The news came from Saudi Arabia that they are starting to step up the QR-barcode scan digital entry system at automated gates to the Rawdah Sharif.
